FOURTH EDITION This IVth Edition of The Boss Hog, The Black Prince, is a tribute to the great spirits of Europe. This is the first Rye Whiskey ever finished in Armagnac casks, straight from France. The result is extraordinary. A fine balance between American power and French sophistication. There’s nothing else like it. Nose Toasted almonds, plum, fig, allspice and warm apple crisp. Palate Bold, powerful spice, apricot, clove and cinnamon sugar. A drop of water brings out notes citrus fruits and black tea. Finish Exceptionally long, with burnt sugar, toasted marshmallows, dried fruits and a gentle oak spice.
THE BLACK PRINCE 1330-1376 His real name was Prince Edward of Woodstock, eldest son of King Edward III of England. He was an exceptional military leader and his victories over the French made him very popular in England during his lifetime. His chivalric tendencies were overridden by expediency on many occasions. The Black Prince’s repeated use of the chevauchée strategy (burning and pillaging towns and farms) was not in keeping with contemporary notions of chivalry, but it was quite effective in accomplishing the goals of his campaigns. Notably, after conquering the French countryside he made off with their finest casks of Armagnac (among other things). We currently do not ship to the following states: Iowa, Maine, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Michigan. We currently do no ship internationally.
Shipping Delays
The store is not responsible for delays caused by UPS. Orders processed by us and dropped off in a timely manner at an UPS location is within our control; UPS doing the delivery in the estimated delivery time is not. UPS is not guaranteeing delivery dates or times or reimbursing for delayed shipments.
Shipping Recommendations
We highly recommend that you ship via air (not ground) during extreme temperatures. This will help protect the integrity of your product; this is especially true for wines as extreme temperatures can have a negative effect on the quality of the items.
Missed Delivery
If a box is returned to us due to missed delivery, the customer owes the return shipping charges and we can resend the box to you which will incur new shipping charges again.
Order Processing
Most orders will be processed the next business day. There are sometimes inventory issues that can cause a slight delay in this. If your order is time sensitive due to needing it for a special occasion or by a certain date, please follow up with the store via phone to notify us and get an update if needed. Please understand the UPS delivery windows are transit time and begin once the box has been scanned in at our local UPS office and also ground shipments are estimated transit times. All orders will require an adult 21 years or older to sign for the delivery. No packages can be left without an adult signature. UPS will attempt to deliver your package to you 3 times. After 3 failed attempts, they will return the package to us. If it is returned to us, you can have it reshipped (at your shipping expense) or have the order refunded (minus a 15% restocking fee).
